AFSOON

Born in 1961 in Iran, Afsoon lived there until the age of 17. After a brief stay in the United Kingdom, she moved to the United States where she first finished high school (1979) and later her BA from Fresno State University (1980—1984). Afsoon's degree is in media and communication with an emphasis on cinematography. Subsequently the artist worked in an art gallery in San Francisco. In 1989, after a period of traveling around India, Mexico, and Guatemala, she settled in London.

In the winter of 2002 Afsoon embarked on a journey of re-discovering her artistic strengths. She took part in a number of printmaking workshops and studied with a variety of established print-makers in London. During this period she also spent numerous hours experimenting with different techniques of her own. On the whole the artist is in many ways and areas, self-taught.
